In a refrigerated space, it is not enough to know that a sensor exceeded a limit value once. It must be verified afterwards in which space, for how long, in which product and operating environment the deviation occurred, who received the alarm, what they did and when the appropriate state was restored. For this, the measurement, alarm and event log form a single trail.

In the demonstration pilot of a three-room cold store, two air temperature measurement points and one door-opening sensor can be activated per room, i.e. a total of nine signals. The raw measurement can be done every minute, for example, while the platform transmits a five-minute value and stores each border crossing event separately. This is not a general requirement: the score and frequency must be determined based on the size of the space, air flow, stored product and your own HACCP plan.
The example is not an offer, a promise of savings or a general compliance requirement; the final technical solution is determined by the on-site and process survey.
In a HACCP and quality management environment, the local regulation of control points, limit values, responsible and corrective activities is the guiding principle. In the event of a power or network failure, the measuring unit must save the data locally with a time stamp, and then transmit it without interruption when the connection is restored. In an audit, the original measurement, the alarm path and the human action together provide interpretable evidence.
Before the pilot, we select the representative and risky points with a comparative walk-through, and then we also record the order of checking with the reference device. The alarm rule can also include delay, door opening, defrosting and a person in charge outside of working hours. We perform a simulated sensor, network, and power outage, and we follow an alarm from receipt to completion of corrective action. Upon acceptance, the entire temperature and measure history for a selected period can be exported, time-stamped and explained. Thus, the audit does not work from a table compiled separately, but from a trail created during operation.
In the first phase, the following two areas will be monitored: air temperature at representative points in the space, not directly at the evaporator and door opening, defrost cycle, compressor or chiller status. Connecting all sites, devices and historical data at the same time is not the goal. First, we verify that a reliable decision and a work process that can be closed are made from the selected data. To finalize the scope, two questions are particularly important: Which points represent the space under normal loading? How much local data storage is required for power or network outages? The answers determine the device count, integration task, local data storage, roles, and acceptance test.
